Grandmother suffers multiple slash wounds in break-in

KUCHING: A 56-year-old woman was slashed several times on her face, head and arm when a man broke into her house in Tabuan Desa here today.
In the 11am incident, the suspect was believed to have entered the house from the backyard after the victim forgot to lock the door after doing her laundry.
The victim, Ting Swee Heong, begged the suspect not to hurt her grandchildren before she was slashed two more times.
Ting's children who were sleeping upstairs woke up to see their mom lying in a pool of blood in the living room.
Kuching Police Chief ASP Roslan Bek Ahmad confirmed the case and said the suspect escaped with two laptops and two smartphones.
His accomplice waited outside the house on a motorcycle.
