The statement said it was recorded at 1.19am on March 8.
The ministry said the authorities were still carrying out a forensic investigation to determine whether those last words from the cockpit were made by the pilot or the co-pilot.
The statement was issued following questions raised during the press conference by Acting Transport Minister Datuk Seri Hishammuddin Hussein this evening with regards to the last communications between the cockpit and the air traffic controller, it said.
The statement added that Hishammuddin had instructed the investigating team to release the full transcript, which will be made available during the briefing to the next-of-kin of Flight MH370's passengers and crew.
Flight MH370, carrying 227 passengers and 12 crew, left the KL International Airport at 12.41 am on March 8 and disappeared from radar screens about an hour later while over the South China Sea.
Following an unprecedented analysis of satellite data, United Kingdom satellite telecommunications company Inmarsat and the UK Air Accidents Investigation Branch concluded that Flight MH370 flew along the southern corridor and that its last position was in the middle of the Indian Ocean, west of Perth, Australia.
Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Razak announced on March 24, 17 days after the disappearance of Boeing 777-200 aircraft, that Flight MH370 "ended in the southern Indian Ocean". The search continues there. – Bernama, March 31, 2014.
