Friendly Reminder

The hoax message on Whatsapp states that he/she has invited to try the WhatsApp Calling feature and can be facilitated if you invite 10 more people. Once you have invited 10 friends, the ‘continue’ button would become active and the calling feature would get enabled.

This is how the scam begins. Once the user clicks the ‘Continue’ button, the victim is taken to another website wherein they are asked to take a survey on behalf of the recognized messaging service. However, the survey is fake. It only forces the folks to download software and applications that includes dangerous malware. If the user continues downloading the infected software and apps, the victim would be doing it in an unceasing loop and at the end there would no such calling feature.

The scammers make money when the victim undergoes surveys, click on the undesired ads and download the apps which contain infection in them that are most likely to keep your personal details on phone at risk.
