The New Volvo XC90's Interior Is Pretty Damn Spectacular
The 2015 Volvo XC90 is here and with it, the Swedish carmaker's new interior design that's not only stunning but clever too.
I told you before that Volvo's new design language is pure sex, but the new XC90's interior is indeed like a stylish Scandinavian living room with seven canopies and a glass roof.
The simplicity of natural wood and soft leather in accompanied by a huge central touchscreen featuring Apple CarPlay for all your infotainment needs. The gear lever is made of crystal glass from Orrefors, and the controls for the start/stop button and volume control are diamond cut pieces.
The XC90 is the first Volvo to use the company's Scalable Product Architecture , which creates a far wider range of design options while increasing interior space.
In practice, this means the second row features three individual seats with recline adjustment. Since they slide, legroom or loading space can be improved while the third, centered row is folded flat. All seats in the second and third row can be folded individually. There's also an optional 'child booster cushion' available for the central seat and power seats for the third row.
All seven seats have three-point safety belts with pre-tensioners, and all rows are covered by curtain airbags, as you would expect in a Volvo. The XC90 also comes with a four-zone climate system with improved filtration, just in case your kid has Asthma.
Looking good Volvo!
