L'Oréal's New Makeup App Will Change Your Life

Forget smudging a lipstick tester on the back of your hand or waiting to get home to test drive a new shadow or entire new beauty look. L'Oréal Paris is debuting a new virtual app, Makeup Genius, that works in real time and uses a super-advanced facial mapping algorithm (the one used in The Curious Case of Benjamin Button) to scan your facial features, allowing you to then instantly upload any product, shade, or look onto your face with the touch of a button. Plus, move and smile to see the effect in real time (not like with old-school, uploaded-picture technologies).

And not only can you do it from your phone whenever or wherever, but if you pop into a store, you can scan any L'Oréal Paris label and instantly test out that particular product. Game changer? Without a doubt. Stay tuned for the app to launch sometime in mid-June (the exact date is TBD). All we have to say is,genius.
